The artist’s first UK solo show, titled ‘Villainy’, brought to life through a full transformation of Maddox Gallery’s Mayfair home into his whimsical, mischievous world. A sweet dose of nostalgia arrived on a grand scale: London’s largest ever doughnut above the door, a pink-icing-covered interior, and sprinkles throughout, setting the stage for an exhibition of subverted cartoon favourites within. Playful, crowd-pleasing and utterly immersive, a fitting debut for one of contemporary art’s most beloved provocateurs.
